Day of the Dead (Dia De Muertos) combines the ancient Aztec custom of celebrating ancestors with All Souls’ Day, a holiday that Spanish invaders brought to Mexico starting in the early 1500s. The holiday, which is celebrated on November 2nd, is like a family reunion—except dead ancestors are the ghosts of honor.

In ancient times, skulls (“Calaveras”) were used to honor the dead. During celebrations, people wore costumes and used caretas, or masks, to scare the dead away at the end of the festivities.

Oaxaca is considered by many to be the ultimate place to witness Day of the Dead and is home to some of the strongest cultures in the whole of the country. Enjoy this incredible experience with lots of tradition at a magical cenote in the jungle with friends and epic house music. There will be several face paint artists on site to get your ‘catrina’ skull face painting look to join the celebration in style.

We are bringing the tradition of ‘DIA DE MUERTOS’ from Oaxaca along with its well known Agave Spirit to Calavera Cenote in Tulum Mexico for the 3rd annual celebration. This will be a special evening hosted by premieum CuentaCuentas (“Storytellers”) Mezcal with the launch of the brand new ‘Tulum Edition’ label for the first time. A tasty Ancestral and artisanal Espadin w/ 46% alochol, distilled through copper clay pots at the palenque.

Día de Muertos is more about healing than it is about feeling bad. Celebrating Day of the Dead means facing the fact that death is real and that although our loved ones are no longer with us, we can remember them and are happy that their spirits have returned to be with us during the holiday. Nobody is getting out of life alive so enjoy the ride.

Come join us for a special celebration at Cenote Calavera and get ready for an evening filled with music and dancing for an magical experience and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Mexico, face paint artists will be on site. This is the ONLY centoe jungle party in Tulum going til 3am and just 5 minutes past town on the main road to Coba.

Shuttles will be running FOR FREE all night every 20 minutes from ‘Gardenia Collective’ in town (across from Chedraui) and limitled parking available on site ($250mx car / $100mx scooter). Get your tickets now to save money and join the most magical evening with a massive sound system.
